There is one thing for which we are to take thought — not anxious, but very deep and earnest thought. We are to take thought about our duty, about our work, about doing God's will, and filling our place in God's world, and taking our part in advancing the heavenly kingdom. Too many people worry far more about their food and raiment, lest they shall be left to want, than they do about doing their whole duty. That is, they are more anxious about God's part in their lives than about their own part. They fear that God may not take care of them, but they do not seem to have any fear that they themselves may fail in duty or in fidelity to him.
